Spelling Basketball
To review for our Spelling Test, we played basketball. They were divided into two teams. I would give a member from a team a word. If they spelled it correctly they could shoot from either the 2 point line or the 3 point line into the trash can. It was more challenging than they expected!
Monochromatic Trees
Our most recent art project, "Tree-mendous Landscapes" focused on creating a monochromatic background by creating tints and shades.

Martin Luther King Jr., Day
When we came back from Christmas, the students were assigned different important events from Martin Luther King Jr.'s life. They were put into groups to read a play on MLK.
Snowman, but no snow
We had our first Buddy project of 2012. Even if there isn't snow on the ground, we were still thinking Winter. The 5th graders helped make cotton ball snowmen with our buddies.
