MARDI GRAS

We had a great time celebrating "Mardi Gras" by eating some delicious snacks, especially the King's Cake. Danielle, Maddie A., and Morgan found the babies in their pieces! They will have a year of good luck! :)

Mardi Gras Masks

I can't believe Lent is right around the corner. Didn't Christmas just happen? We painted our Mardi Gras masks on Wednesday and decorated them today! I have never seen my carpet so sparkly! These masks will be in the trophy cases for the month of March! Thanks to all those that volunteered their time and those that donated supplies!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy St. Valentine's Day!! We had a great time at our Valentine party. The kids might have had a "small" sugar high when they got home from all the candy playing LCR and the chocolate fountain! Thank you to all the parents that donated items for the party and their time to volunteer. Congrats to our Valentine Box winners: Landon, Lizzie, Payton, and Luke!

WHY DOES MATTER MATTER?

It seems like forever ago that we met our preschool buddies. Today we worked on a science project with them as they were learning the states of matter. We discussed different solids, liquids, and gases. To demonstrate how heat energy can change something from a liquid to a solid, we made pancake batter (5th graders were experts) and a parent turned them into a solid by cooking them up on the griddle. We also showed the preschoolers how our body heat can change ice to a a liquid while we listened to the book "IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A PANCAKE". To top things off, we enjoyed some delicious pancakes! :)
